Storm Causes Property Damage to North Naples Resort?

12/30/2024 (Permalink)

Palm trees bend over during a powerful wind gust. We restore storm damage 24/7 in Collier County.

Our local North Naples team is trained and certified to restore storm damage quickly and efficiently. In December, North Naples typically experiences a few types of weather events that can lead to property damage, especially for beachfront resorts:

Cold Fronts with High Winds and Coastal Flooding: December is part of Florida’s dry season, but passing cold fronts can bring gusty winds and storms that stir up the Gulf of Mexico. High winds can batter resort structures, especially windows, roofs, and outdoor amenities, while strong winds combined with high tides can lead to coastal flooding and beach erosion, damaging landscaping and beachfront property.

King Tides: Although they are natural, these exceptionally high tides occur periodically and often coincide with December’s weather patterns. When combined with storm-driven waves or high winds, king tides can cause flooding along the coastline, impacting resort grounds, walkways, and lower levels of beachfront structures.

Tropical Storm Remnants: While hurricane season technically ends in November, it’s not unheard of for late-season tropical storms to affect Florida in December. These storms can bring heavy rain, strong winds, and high surf, causing water intrusion, structural damage, and extensive beach erosion for resorts along the coast.
